Independent Servicing in Surrey

Dear All,

I have just joined this forum, having bought an eight-year old SL320. I intend running this as a 'sort of every-day' car. By this I mean that when the weather's nice and I don't need to transport the dog, I'll use the SL. When the weather's not so good (like today) or the dog needs a walk, I'll use my six-year old Landrover Freelander. So I guess I'll do around 5,000 miles per year in the SL, which has done 66,700 miles.

I'm not mechanically minded, but do like to make sure that my cars are properly maintained. I would like to get the SL checked over by a specialist, but I am not willing to use an M-B dealer (I have had experience of these in the past, with an E-class estate!).

I have searched on 'specialists in Surrey' but most of the posts are fairly old. Therefore, can anyone recommend a reliable independent M-B specialist in Surrey (I'm in north-east Surrey)? In particular, has anyone used a specialist called Nick Georges at Brockham Garage and would you recommend them?

Sorry I do not know that one, they one I gave was recommended, but not everyone is good at everything so hard to answer

Hi Simon,

I live in Weybridge and rather than using the local Brooklands I intend using Colin Ferns in Richmond.I haven`t used them yet but they were recommened to me and speaking to them on the phone they have already been helpful.My sl (107) is going in next week for a service and tune at £60 with them,so watch this space or look them up.They specialise in the sl range.

AH Autos in Guildford (http://www.ahauto.co.uk/) are excellent. I haven't used them for my Merc yet, but they service my Audi TT.
I can't speak highly enough of them.

I can recommend SS Motors who are on the Weybridge industrial estate (actually nearer Addleston). They have serviced my E280 estate and also more recently the CL420.

Just a short note to thank all those who have recommended independent MB specialists in Surrey. I'm really enjoying the SL experience, especially on a day like today. Still, as the weather turns, I guess it will be back to the Freelander!

SS Motors are very good - though can be very busy. Joe knows R129s very well - including the ADS system. 01932-821-555.

Alternatively Tony Purslow are a main dealer franchise and offer 40% off of labour for MBs over 6 years old. They come recommended.
