Injector Leak Off - ML270

Evening all,

I have a 2002 ML270 which I have had the smooth running values of the injectors checked and they are well within values (+/- 0.5) on all injectors.

I still have an issue where it can be a little difficult to start when hot, so I am having an injector leak off test performed this week.

Assuming there will be a duff injector or two...

Would this cause lower MPG figures ? or does excessive leak off not make any difference to MPG ?

You will be surprised how much MPG drops off with a duff injector or 2. Its important to do a hard throttle leak off test as well as one at idle.

Any cost effective places to get a replacement injector from ?

DTM in Bristol will overhaul your original injector with genuine bosch parts. Avoid the Camberley remanufactured ones, they arent done by Bosch, but by Carwood Rewind who use cheap chinese equivilent which dont last.

Check out your main dealer asking for a reconditioned one (they will try and sell you a new one) - I had one replaced in December by a local Indie who got me a reconditiond injector from a local MB main dealer for the same price or lower than other firms were offering online - it came fully tested and with a 12 month MB parts warranty. I was told these are subject to availability
