Hi all
Sorry if this has been asked before but cant seem to find anything on here or anywhere else online
I had codes come up on my car which where p0272 and p0266 after taking advice i sent my injectors of for testing once there the company said all 4 were on their way out so got them replaced with refurbished units once fitted following guidelines on here and where coded in once installed.
After doing this i went for a test drive and there was no power like in limp mode then the engine management came back on after checking the codes again they are the same codes as previous
If anyone has any advice on this issue it would be greatly appreciated
Thankyou in advance stay safe everyone

you really should have spill tested you injectors before doing anything else pal , this is pretty much going to show any issues with them , it reads like the injectors aren't your problem ??

Hi bembo449 thankyou for your reply in my untrained opinion i also believe the injectors wernt the issue in the first place but as directed by a local mechanic and united diesel changed them all my only issue is now after spending £700 on injectors i am no better of than i was previous so just trying to figure out where i go from here as i cannot keep throwing money at it just hoping something fixes it which seem the way the mechanic i went to seems to operate

welcome to the forum. do stick around.

take a step back. Who diagnosed the fault as being injectors. This is a skill requiring competent people and quality code readers.

If it was a diy job then i say its mis diagnosed.

over many years I learned to pay once pay right

For the un experienced cheap code readers are only good too see whats going on with the car, for diags its a can of worms.

you need a competent merc specialist with star/xentry diags not a run of the mill garage. Run of the mill garages are good for purely mechanical things, pads, disks, some suspension parts, changing halogen bulbs etc.

We’re the replacement injectors coded back to the car, it won’t be the root cause but will ensure that your not causing yourself further issues and red herrings.
As above though I think the codes are only a part of the issue, you need to be following TIPS in STAR to go further into the issues and find the root cause, probably a couple of hours in total to find it.

Possibly meant they were leaking already maybe not bad but would only get worse, so “on their way out”

Hi hmang i havent contacted them yet as wanted to make sure it was another issue rather than just complain for the sake of complaining

........Thankyou in advance
Please tell me more about the engine.
Engine code
Mileage
Gear box manual or automatic
Did you take the injectors out to send them for testing. If it was you, did you see any blackness in that area.
What you have had done to the car from the time you had the car.

Hi matt
My car is a c220 2.1 litre with 120 thousand on the clock
I only bought this car in december so havent done anything myself
I changed the injectors no black death was very clean if im honest
I sent injectors and got told all faulty so got a full set of refurbished units once fitted had them coded in and once on a drive there was no power my next step was to take it to mercedes for further investigation to be told the old values needed deleting and once nothing changed after that they said theres no more faults showing on the car but still no power
And for them to start an investigation manually would set me back 156 an hour and as previous i cant afford to pay that rate hourly with no end in sight

December is a bad month to buy a Mercedes LOL. I bought my Vito in December too and had similar issues to you Nashley. Thankfully a set of injectors cured mine after pulling my hair out for a few months:rolleyes:. Recommend you go to a good merc independent to get that issue sorted. It might be a wiring issue but who knows.

Lucky you. Hope thats it .dealer f useless should have been checked before hooking up diagnostics along with other "basics" and if solved maybe you learned something about avoiding dealer "fees "!!
