Hello Guys!
I have a C180 Kompressor 2005 model Benz and recently expirienced an unconfortable intermittent idle and ended in an engine shutdown. However it will start immediately. After checking using the diagnostic machine the read out was misfiring on cylinder #3 so I was told to replace the ignition coil on #3 and there after the replacement the engine runs smoothly. After running the car for one week the same problem came out again and the result on the diagnostic check was again a misfiring on #3. The mechanic suspected that the air mass sensor was at fault. So I purchased the new sensor and after the installation the car is still experiencing the same idle intermettent problem. Then the mechanic went to air intake manifold by openning it and air tighten it and the result is showing the car back to its good running condition.
Is there anyone in this thread that can provide an idea the possible effect of air intake manifold in the intermittent idle of the car engine???
Thanks!
