- 2007 Merc 220 CDi Est Auto Av (s203)
My S203 (C Estate 2007 Avantgarde Diesel) has been remarkable for reliability and even now I can normally open the door, turn the engine heater for half a minute or less then away! At least, I should be able to just go but she has developed a problem around the position of the speed selector lever.
9 times out of 10 she will start but it's the odd one that gets me... I turn the key and - nothing! Well, there's a tiny click like a solenoid but no power! By fiddling around with the speed selcto I've narrowed it down to a problem with the lever position and even though it was parked and shut down normally, sometimes it will be as dead as the proverbial dodo and I've managed to move the lever while turning the ignition and she has started just as normal.
She is going to be checked out by a well known indy (that's Steve @ Avantgarde who has a superb reputation) on Wednesday (if I can get her to start okay)! So by the end of the week I'll know whether it was a reasonable priced fix or "OMG - that much?)
Wish me luck!
