Intermittent Turbo Failing

My turbo is failing Intermittently, My machanic told me I needed Inlet Manifold. You has put two used Inlet Manifold on all ready - problem not solved. I'm now being asked to buy and new one.
Is it common place to have 3 of the same parts fail? (E220 CDI)

Its common to need one but three, think another person to look at the car would be my next move!!
