Hi,
I hope this is in the right place. I've recently bought a 1999 W210 E280 and so far am very impressed! However, as is the norm with me when I get new things, I worry about them working right! So I might be making something out of nothing.
On the temperature gauge, minimum is 40, 80 is in the middle and the max is 120 so I assume each block is roughly equivalent to 20 degrees C. When going quickly, (i.e. motorway speeds) it sits just above 80 degrees but when driving slower, around town or idling, it seems to hover closer to the next bar up which I assume, is 100 degrees. Now I had a look and when it's around this temperature, the two enormous fans at the front come on even though they don't seem to be spinning all that quickly. It never hits the 100 degree bar but gets pretty damn close. One thing to bear in mind, is that recently, it's been very hot outside - the ambient temperature has been reading near to 30 degrees C although I'm pretty sure that's wildly optimistic. (Another post for another time!) It's still very warm outside though.
So, am I worrying over nothing? Any help would be enormously appreciated!
