Doesn't look right that's for sure, if it's pink and looks like a milk shake it's been emulsified. Old oil is usually a brownish colour.Does this trans oil look full of water ?
Did read a test somewhere that said, if you pour some on a hot pan and it splatters, then its got water in.
Not sure if that works
Then sets fire to your kitchenYes that test will work , people that run veg oil use the same test.. hot pan and about a table spoon of oil dropped in.
It will fizz and pop if water in it.

Yes thats true, but both shared the same radiator, with a partition seperating them, and this partition used to leak water into the trans cooler, and from there directly into the transmission...it was a major flaw in the radiator itself..Valeo ones, I think , but google MB faulty transmission radiators , and there plenty of info on them. It has not been a problem for a Nr of years now, since they changed to a different Radiator manufacturer .bit difficult to make out the pictures.
Please correct me if i am incorrect, but that MY ML270 does not have transmission oil cooler within the Radiator, its separate on the outside, hence very difficult for water to enter gearbox.
Oil should be just oil coloured, depending on what oil was used, either red or gold. Perhaps its just well past its sell by date.
It sure looks like its contaminated with something, thats a completely unnatural colour for ATF. I've never seen ATF fluid that color, you will get old fluid which was originally red, but with old age and burnt particles from the trans itself, will be almost black in color.....Does this trans oil look full of water ?
