I reckon it is short for "Artificial Cow".

It is a man-made leather and is a free upgrade from cloth on the Evolution package on the c-class.

Next best thing to leather, looks as real as a real cow and saves the wildlife of the planet.

lol - maybe. I have "Leather Twin" which is also short for not full leather - but it's convincing.

Not sure what the difference between 'twin' and 'artico' is. I think they are both simulated leather but they both look and feel genuine enough.

I will need to get myself one of the newley released video ipods, I hope the thinner dimensions of the new iPod still fit my iPod cradle when it arrives.

Anyone with the iPod kit know how this fits into the glove box, is it just foam or poly of some variety than can be modified by the user?

the cradle is a piece of chavness.

Some felt is epoxied into (my case the wrong) position and some sticky back (crap version of) velcro attaches it to the felt.

I peeled my felt off, turned it glue side up onto the velcro (it stays put but is not stuck) and put it on the top glovebox shelf where it moves around slightly but is restricted by the manual (so that's what they're for :) ) and the ipod looks nice and cushioned and happy. Thought I would leave it like that until I decided where to velcro it properly... but in no hurry to do that.

Tomorrow is the big day!!

Will the spec be present & correct? Will the iPod cradle be in the correct place? Will I try to use the clutch like I have for the last 12 years of driving? Will I get flowers for the wife??

Oh, I'm a bag of nerves!

:D

Now had the car for a few days and I'm still smilling. :)

All the gadgets are present and correct and I've now got the hang of them, not yet tried to clutch or change gear that often :???:

I'm well pleased and glad I made the choice for a MB. I hope my upcoming years in it are troublefree!!

My dealer told me they don't do flowers any more. Apparently they kept forgetting to order them or else forgot to give them out. So he led me to a display case full of shiny crap to choose from.
I chose the MB umbrella too. It was the only vaguely useful thing in there and I've been meaning to get a brolly for ages.
How do you find the 270?

No.

I didnt get anything from the dealer this time, I didn't really pester him for anything. Probabkly should have. I got a great Alfa Romeo brolly when I bought my last car, give it to my pal though for taking me to England to collect the car.

I did buy myself a shiny official MB keyring off eBay. It arrived today and is already on my key!

Absolutely love it!

Fairly economical (even on actual, not displayed, figures!), and so much power its not true! Put your foot down, and you almost take off! Completely delighted with the car.

On the economy front, the B class courtesy car I have at the moment (E220 is in for service) is a 200 Diesel, and the display is claiming an MPG figure a good 10mpg below that displayed in my C270.

I haven't lived with parktronic for long. Had it on a loaner and haven't taken delivery of my new baby yet but I'm glad the new one has it. Admittedly it can be a pain when you know where the obstructions are and it will no doubt go mental when I'm parking in the garage, but I'm pretty sure most supermarket car parks are sponsored by bodyshops these days, else why would they scientifically design all the concrete barriers to be 1.5mm too short to see when reversing!
I smacked the E into a metal one a few months ago. No damage fortunately but I was fuming - totally invisible from the driver's seat.

He bought me an iPod integration kit!! Janis would have sung for one of these years ago as well if she knew how cool they were going to be.

Yes, it is time to change the signature. I'll work something new out soon.
