i have been in touch with the guy who worked in the film industry, and he has said that the mercedes he is looking for came to britain in 1974 when it was given a 1974 registration. i have found out from the DVLA that the car was made in pre 1972 (thats why the car is tax exempt), so its possible that the car is famous.

P.S. i will try to get a digital camera, so i can put a picture of my mercedes of this forum.

here you go.

Can I PM you, Merc Owner? I'm interested in your film contact as I contribute to a film location site and would welcome any info about Scottish film locations.

dont wanna upset anyone but why would the DVLA give a car built p[er1972 a 1974 reg. even an import?

just enquiering as i dont know....

and it may not be a bad idea to write to the production company of janice bond films.....EON productions and see if they will have any info on this car for you.

unsure how to get thier address but a google search may come up with something of perhaps a letter nicely written to the natioanl motor museam who have a permenant james bond display.? they could perhaps pass on a letter.

The DVLA would give you a reg No for the year the car was imported not when it was first registered hope this helps.
