Hello everybody. I am new to this forum although I have been a Mercedes enthusiast for some years.
I own a 1976 lhd W115 300D which I love. I also recently purchased a lovely white 1981 200 for £300. I changed the fuel lines as I found after a week or so of driving it, it would start loosing power a lot. It has been fine since, but I just noticed the oil pressure being lower than normal. It hits all the way to 3 on start up but after only a minute or two on the road it goes to about 2 and stays there, if I accelerate hard it goes to 3 slowly.
Also the acceleration becomes sluggish after a few minutes. Do I need an oil change? or is this something more serious?
I had a 230e a couple of years ago which suffered similar symptoms and the head blew on that about a week later....ouch! Am I being paranoid......? any comments appreciated.

By the way it has had 12 owners so I suppose that's why it was so cheap. Although only 100000 miles on the clock.....hmmm

Try an oil & Filter change, but make sure to use a good quality oil.

If still the same then it may be that the oil pump gears(inside the timing cover) have worn and need replacing.
