The battery in my key is on the way out, takes 10-20 attempts to finally open the car, but sometimes it works fine first time. I though the car charged the batter as you drove!?

If I have to replace the battery, what battery does it take so I can get one first. Or can MB charge it?

CLK 230 W208

Cheers

Thats a thing a lot of people get wrong, the only thing the eis sends into the key is a infra red beam!! the key has 2, 3 volt dish batterys!!

Purchase the battery's and fit them straight away and you should be okay.

I've just replaced mine, as said 2 x 2025's

I ordered them from MX2.com, very good and free postage, like play.com they are in Jersey. I use them for all my batteries and memory sticks etc.

I think I got 3 for £3.60 delivered, much cheaper than in the shops. I too was worried that I'd loose the programming etc but did a quick change and everything is fine.
