Hi there,
Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a water pump (?and gasket)for a 1980 350SL. Just came out of work and found a largish puddle of oily water under the car. My garage says it's the water pump and are looking into pricing me an MB pump and refit, but I've heard they're a doddle to change and thought if I can get hold of one myself maybe I could do it?
Any tips? Is it easy? Are the pumps available cheaper than from MB?

I've tried Mercman's website but there seems to be an error filling the form in.

Hope someone can help? (maybe Malcolm again!)

Cheers,
Chris.

Malcolm - my gratitude!

My local garage quoted me £230 to replace my water pump, MB would have sold me one for £91 but Eurocarparts came in at £41 as you'd said.

I bought it and spent a fun/terryfying 6 hours with my girlfriend's dad changing it over - and now it runs just fine! It was the first time I've ever tried to 'DIY' my car and have learnt a great deal just in the short time it took. (Dare say some will read this and think 6 hours isn't so short for a water pump!)
Thanks again for the advice,
Take care,
Chris.
