I get a knocking noise (only knocks or bangs once) on startup from cold. The local garage had a look when they were replacing a ball joint for me and said they could find nothing mechanically that would explain it. I wonder if it could be the engine or gearbox mounts? Is there a way to check or any other thoughts on what could be causing it?
