Hi all,

Newbie here, apologies if this is in the wrong place. I collected my A180 AMG line Prem Plus on the first day of the 71 plate last September, and like many (all?) others, was told it would not come with the chip that made the Mercedes.me features work, and was asked to sign a waiver that essentially said I would wait until they came into stock and it would be retrofitted. Eight months later - radio silence. I work in the tech industry so am aware that this is a continued issue globally, but I have no idea if it'll be weeks, months or years before I get my chip. I've contacted my dealership and MB themselves, and they keep telling me the same thing - I'll get a letter when I'm at the front of the queue.

I've joined this forum to see if there is anyone else in the same boat as myself, or does anyone know what process they're going through to get these fitted? Thanks.

Global shortage that isn’t likely to be resolved in the near future, when I say near future I mean within the next year, and that’s in the hope that the US and China don’t decide to both go after Taiwan (producer of 3/4 of the worlds chips are manufactured there)

Newer cars do give a lot more functionality, although it’s not something I’d be interested in (or even want).
Giving Mercedes the ability to know where the car is at all time and being able to come and take it away is not something most owners realise with the app

Hate to say it but l will. Once they've got a sale and their money there's very little leverage you can bring. So where's the incentive for the dealer or MB to sort it?
I wanted to order a brand new Jaguar XE late last year and at least the Jaguar dealer wouldn't take an order at that point. Disappointing it was, but perhaps preferable to ending up with features missing.

Looking on line I can't find anything other than ....
You can always keep an eye on your Mercedes via the Mercedes me App. For example, check the current vehicle status: are the windows and doors really closed? Are my tyre pressures correct? How many more miles are left in the tank? All about you: personalize your home screen to find your favourite features even faster and more easily.
