I'd have thought local dealer not being owned by Sytner would be a positive to be honest, loathsome network!I remembered it, yes, but for all the wrong reasons. It’s another negative vibe I’m getting about the brand and a reason I’ve no appetite for a Merc when I change my car soon. It’s all part of the brand’s downward trajectory. I just don’t subscribe to the view that there’s no such thing as bad publicity.
And my local dealership has just changed hands so it’s not owned by Sytner anymore. So it’s all a bit depressing.
I'm also of the view that MB is no longer a "prestige brand". I posted a thread and took votes but, most people seemed to disagree with me (probably those that purchased one because they feel it is a "prestige car").I remembered it, yes, but for all the wrong reasons. I have "seen the light" and it aint commin from any benz dealership !!!!I'd have thought local dealer not being owned by Sytner would be a positive to be honest, loathsome network!
I agree with you, all a bit 'tacky'
Modern benz.. buying is just the down payment on a business plan thats designed to keep you and yr wallet attached to the dealer.not an issue if u lease. Even the dealer dont want to see 6 yr old mercs !! And its no surprise that there are so many cheap used ones about.most now know the ballache and costs of fixing themIt does depend what you judge an MB against though Rory. I do believe they are still a Prestige manufacturer mainly because of the way they are perceived by the the masses. Same with BMW, same with Audi, same with Jaguar and so forth. The build quality shines through. Compare an MB with a Fiat or a Citroen and you have your answer
