How the hell do you trap your thumb in a 6mm gap?

I trapped my little finger between the front and rear door of an HQ in 1977 Alistair. I reversed car car into the workshop putting the drivers side up against the block wall, slid across the seat got out the passenger door not realising that I had pushed the lock button down, closed the door using my right hand around the frame, but weren't quick enough removing my hand and my little finger jammed between the 2 doors. I couldn't open the door as it had locked and I couldn't reach the back door to open it either.
Luckily the factory next door heard my yelling and came to my rescue. I was trapped for roughly 5 minutes, it felt like hours and my poor finger was very misshapen  Lesson learnt, never use my hand on the inside of a car door to close it with thumb on the outside :D

First rule of elf and safe tea, don't put yer finger where you wouldn't put yer d1ck ;)

You were lucky you didn't drown, as you would had you done in one of your newer cars :geek:;)

I was just thinking the soft close doors would have been great in my youth when I was getting in late and didn’t want my parents to know. Hurdle one was closing the door without any noise

Interesting though, I always close a door with patience, always using the actual door handle. I see many that don’t who just use the edge of the door or glass if pillar-less and this is where accidents can happen.

Like you I never slam the car doors and always use the door handle. I get annoyed when people slam my car doors and let them know that there is no need for it.:)
