I want some brighter reverse lights on the Viano and LED seems the way to go. There are hundreds of them on Ebay but I want to do my best to avoid any problems with the bulb warning system seeing a problem with non standard bulbs. Any ideas or links for ones you know work OK?

Ignore it.
The 'Reverse Light' alarm will appear on the dash, but only while in reverse. I treat it as another indication that I'm in reverse, not that I need it.

They look nice and bright! Are they a brand and do they upset the bulb warning?

It isn’t BS. LED headlamps are limited to 1200lm by lighting regs. How they deliver that brightness is another question but still, peak luminous flux intensity doesn’t exceed 1200lm. So for a reversing lamp to reach 80% of that, when all it needs to do is either a) indicate to other drivers that your reverse gear is engaged, or b) provide enough brightness to use reversing camera at night- which I know from testing needs c.450lm- actually IS BS.

I think they could make excessively bright reverse lights a major and therefore a fail by using the section.... Reversing lamp emitted colour or position not in accordance with the requirements

You might argue they'd be stretching the use of the phrase but may happen.

Maybe,
but position is as designed,
and colour is white, or warm white.

I've never had a comment at MOT.
Could they cite the lamps as not CE approved I wonder.

Yep perhaps... I'm not that fussed either way just thought I'd see what regs subsection they might use.
