The most common problem is the air flow meter or MAf.. have it checked on a diagnostic machine. and if so fit the genuine item ...

Hi,
I am in the same situation with the limp mode on my 2002 108 cdi. Have you sorted your problem out yet and if so what was it ?
Cheers
John

W638 Vito vans suffer from broken wires below the air filter box which will cause them to go into limp mode and limit the revs to 3000
