Line across wing mirror

I've just been out for a run and across the drivers wing mirror is an uneven diagonal line, no cracks it looks like water has got behind it, the mirror won't demist, no signs of the mirror being bumped, any ideas anyone?

Had one like that on mine no sign of a bump but it was a hair line crack required a new mirror glass not cheap if you buy the one that is antiglare but there is a less exspensive one that does the job and seems just as good to me

I had a similar looking "crease" across the drivers mirror on my W210. The fix was to replace the glass however as per above the dimming glass is V-expensive. Also be very careful removing the glass because if the self dimming but drips out onto the paintwork it stains it and as far as I know cannot be removed.

quite easy job to replace.
To save cost just buy a normal heated one, a fraction of the cost of the auto dimming mirror.
