I had the B service done back in Nov and for the MOT the car needed 2 new front springs. This was done and all was well, the vibration I'd been getting through the wheel at 70+ was gone.

Fast forward two weeks and the "wallop" over bumps was back. So that's the second set of front drop-links the car has had in 13 months. Are they made from cheddar cheese?

I'm most angry about the mess John R Weirs have made of my service history. Some clown has written in the service book Engine oil - Castrol GTX  They charged me for Mobil one. The car deserves Mobil One WTF is going on here I asked?

Oh, sorry it was the MOT man (he is new) he must have made a mistake; and he then wrote with a pen on the service history book Mobil One. :( I could have done that, that was not what I wanted, at all

Shocked and about to loose my temper, I left the dealer....... So I've had time to think about this, the MOT man who is new, serviced my car? I'm then expected to believe the man is that stupid, he wrote the wrong grade of oil in my service history, but he is okay to service my car? Eh?

I'm going to phone Mercedes UK in the morning and demand that they investigate this and replace my now ruined service history

Oh and the vibration that was gone before is back, sigh. I got better service than this from Ford dealers. Perhaps I should just chop it in for a new Mondeo and save myself the ****** hassle! :(

The vibration must be wheel balance.

If the guy that put the oil in said GTX then the chances are he has put in GTX and this should be taken out and the correct mobil 1 put in

Yes Malcolm being logical I would agree. I've looked at the oil and it does look like Mobil One and I'm assured it is, as they don't stock any other type of oil I am told. But as you say, why would he write different? It just doesn't compute!

BTW. I use Castrol GTX in my 4/ lawnmower and for that it is very good. I wouldn't have minded so much had it been Castrol Magnatec!

If the guy is new maybe his old garage used castrol and by force of habbit wrote it in your book, unprofessional but you can see why the error occured.
