Looking for info about leak

So I just recently picked up a 2009 mercedes c300 4matic with 90k on it for a good deal. Went to change the oil and noticed a leak around transmission area, primarily the transmission brace. I assuming the leak is above it so I'll have to poke around a bit to a better look at things. Is this a common thing for this particular model? I don't want to drive it to prevent any other damage but maybe a short drive to the shop maybe necessary. Any help is appreciated. Good day.

Unfortunately it was a private owner sale so that's not an option.

Get yourself aquainted with a reputable merc indy. It will need ro go on some ramps.

Yeah it's heading to a mercedes shop in an hr or so. I've worked on all my previous cars but it's summer and it's hot so I'll pass on this adventure. Car is solid and extremely clean for its age so I'll do what repairs are necessary

Just left the shop and it's a gasket leaking at the transfer case. About 1700 to repair, gonna call a few more places that specialize in mercedes to get more prices

There is no dip stick for the transfer case oil.
If I were you, I would straight away top up the transfer box oil yourself before driving it to a garage.
Alternatively, have it transported to the garage.
