If I was regularly taking passengers in the back I wouldn't have the coupe, and with just two seats you are limited, but it would be perfect for me and the wife now.I have a E coupe (2012)
Whilst there is adequate space for the two rear passengers once in, it is NOT the easiest car to access. Who would / might you have in the rear - it will become a major feature? (we have a Qashqai for 'passengers')
Get a Pano roof if you do go for a coupe (saloon misses it less). Personal opinion, but its a must.
I have the 350 Petrol - there are some around the £10k mark if you don't do the mileage (though the 350CDI doesn't seem to fail on low mileage like others do)
There are good indi garages on the south coast so you are well placed if you do take the plunge.
BT audio may not be enabled on earlier Comand system (pre NTG 4.5) - it needs STAR I am told (mine was already)
I also have an iPod classic in the centre console, but also the HDD 'music register' and you may even get DAB fitted
Sat Nav Map may need updating - its not cheap, but if you plan on relaying on it (as I do) then its worth getting it done (by CoL)
PS - I tried a coupe with 19" wheels and whilst they looked (very) good, on the roads around here it was a step too far (so am on 18")
The golf looks good though.....
