The low coolant warning light on my 1995 E300D came on dimly, not as bright as it is during start up. Temperature guage reads normal (slightly above 80 degrees). The coolant level was only slightly low in the reservoir, but adding coolant to the line had no effect on the warning light. Outside temperatures have been hovering in the 40 - 60 degree range, so the auxiliary electric fans have not been running. Car recently got a new wiring harness which solved several problems. Any ideas why the low coolant warning light is on?
