Hi, I just join this forum and I have a question. I just purchased a 1999 E300TD form a local dealer (Los Angeles) (Mercedes calls it a Starmart) I need the service records for the car and I asked the sales manager and Service Advisor for it, and they gave me the most rediculos anwser " We can't give that information because is privet, only with the previous owner permition. How do I go about getting the information without T-off someone and getting the records accidently erased? Can any one help me on this? Thank you for any help Olburnr

Car should come with stamped up service book. It was supplied with the car when it was new.

That sounds fishy to me, something not right. I have enver heard of a story like that before. It may be that they will not give you copies of the invoices, but the service book should record what was done, date, mileage etc and even the invoice number to enable tracing. Any honest self resepcting dealer would have that information.

How about turn up at the dealership with the previous owner? Or get copies from him.
