I found a great deal (according to my basic knowledge) on a 2016 C Class 350e hybrid petrol. Its 18k€, insurance is saying its worth something around 26k€. However, its has 120k km (80k miles). Checked my local benz dealership, battrey costs 13k (which is a no go). I primerly spend my days driving, so I’m worried that I could be facing a large bill soon if i buy it. What do you think regarding the price? And Do any of you know when would you need to replace the battrey (normally) or How long for it to start showing its age?

And side note Does Hybrid really make a difference in fuel costs?

TIA

Hello and welcome

Why do you want a hybrid? The fuel economy is worse than the equivalent diesel and the battery range is just about non-existent… They can also lead to seriously expensive bills (please have a search and read in the forum )

And to answer your question, yes it does… it makes it worse as you’re lugging around a dead weight of a battery most of the time

I have yet to seen anything good written about the MB hybrid, I wouldn't touch it.

I do not really want a hybrid as I am a little bit skeptical about electric/hybrid. However the owner of the car, i have known him for a long time and he is immegrating thus needs to sell it. I have been loking for good deal for quite a while however almost all the time, prices are from 30k upwards for 2015/16 models. I was considering it purly based on price really.

It was MB first try at a hybrid & not very successful, I am sure they learnt a lot & the next one will be much better.
There are other dealers who have had much more success with their hybrids.
