CLS 250 CDI Shooting Brake
Hi

I am hoping someone can help.

I have a 63 plate CLS Shooting Brake which is experiencing DAB signal issues. The signal keeps dropping out displaying a no reception message on the screen, when I know there is no issue with signal (our other car Volvo is fine).

Any ideas what it could be? Where does the antenna sit for the DAB signal? Car is under warranty for another few months so would like to get this sorted asap.

Thanks

if you locate the dab box follow the antenna wire, can be part of screen or in the roof.
if you have warranty - let them sort it. In my experince MB DAB is not the most robust.

I don’t have MB warranty but have private company warranty which is at a certain standard so hopefully this issue will cover it. I have got the message below parked outside my house when I know clearly there is DAB signal in the area image.jpg

Antenna is either roof, rear screen, or front screen. How is FM reception?

Antenna amps have a habit of failing, but I am not sure if one amp runs both DAB & FM.
If you can get to the antenna input on the radio pull it out & put a wire into the connector only needs to be about a foot long.
If the radio is working you should get some reception. At least then you will know where the fault is, radio or antenna.

I’ve got it booked in with my mechanic for next Friday as I don’t have the expertise to do this myself.

The radio is working intermittently on DAB but on FM AM MW works with no issues at all. Don’t think it’s the radio personally, it must be the DAB antenna

most Merc DAB tuners have the phantom antenna feed off - and Mercedes separately powers the Antenna AMP...

if you buy a 13 quid far better antenna, you'll need to find
1) a home
2) antenna feed (power up the coax)

my DAB tuner was got at by specialist - and they flipped in software its own internal feed to on - so I just plugged in one of these and shoved it behind the rear bumper - u need to dremel the silly wrong SMB plug to suit the fakkra one merc use... I have no idea why the idiots after market all use the wrong plug (u need about 1/2mm off the outer diameter)

W907 Sprinter 2.2l
Hi, I am new to this forum and here is my first post.
I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH DROP-OUTS ON MY W907 SPRINTER. I am trying to find and check all the signal cable connections to check them for integrity. So far I have checked from the antenna through to the signal box located under the driver seat and found one poor earth and one signal cable that wasn’t pushed fully home. My next step is to try and locate the radio tuner, so that I can check the signal connections to it. Can any one tell me where the radio tuner is housed? My 2019 Sprinter based motorhome has the infotainment screen, so I am presuming that the radio tuner is housed somewhere behind the dash center console. But Where?
Can anyone help with info?
Thanks,
Boggie
