MB Dealers and customer service

Just thought somebody else would be amused by the responses I've had from MB dealers following a request for a quote for replacing the locks on my CLK. I sent the same email (bcc) to 7 dealers within 25 miles. The Sheffield dealers wouldn't give me a quote without my driving licence and log book as proof I was still the owner. :roll:

The Leeds dealer's email address wasn't recognised and 3 others haven't had the common decency to respond.

The 2 that did respond came back with £604 and £1025 against an independent's £375. Even ignoring the independent's quote how can 2 branches of the same organisation come back with a difference of £420?????

Update: Someone from Sheffield MB came back with a quote for £483.78. Now a £540 difference within the same company.
