If you had a plumber or another tradesman working in your home I dont think they would want you to film them.

I don't care what they would or wouldn't like; if they're good at their jobs and competent what would they have to fear?

When I was working for a European Car dealership and repair shop this sort of thing was quite rife, especially when the apprentices were collecting or dropping off cars between the workshop and showroom. Many-a-good time was had driving to and from with more than 3 drivers and cars of young ages. Mind you this was the late '70's.
What also used to go on was the occasional customer car search to see who owned the car, and some very well known people owned some average cars back then too o_O
It is not all service garages that can treat customers cars this way either, some rental, or should I say lots of rental cars are put through there paces too by their staff :D
I have worked at quite a few garages in the past and 90% seem to be very caring about their customer cars.

A mate did some work for a well known rental company (starts with A...) back in the 80s. They had a surplus of cars in one depot and needed them brought back to Auckland where they had a shortage. He arranged it so four of us were taken down in a minibus to Tauranga (about 100 miles or so) and given the keys to four cars - 1 x Ford Escort 1.1, 2 x Nissan Sunny 1.2 and 1 x Toyota Starlet 1.0
All four us were in our early 20s and all were heavily involved in motorsport...

As can be surmised it didn't take long before the four cars were being wrung out for every drop of speed. There was a back road route I know which had long straights and some pretty interesting windy bits as well. It was a huge amount of fun.

We got back to the depot in Auckland to be told "You're early - we didn't expect you for another 45 minutes yet! You weren't racing were you?" which of course elicited a chorus of "No...."

There were numerous similar tales I was told of as well - some ending in crashes. After that I would never buy an ex-rental car.

It's well known that rental cars are the most powerful on the planet. They develop 100% of max engine power from the moment the engine is switched on to the moment it's turned off ;)

Many many moons ago, a hired Sierra took me from Pompey Hard to Rosyth in 6 & half hours. It was rarely in 2 figure mph

Had a Dope working from a hire company pull out in front of me a few years ago in a new Astra, (middle of winter probably about 5years ago now when we actually had some snow), anyway, he shot off down the road and I followed on knowing it wasn't gritted I backed off plus I would be turning into the wife's workplace at the end of the road. I was about 00yards from where I pull in and I notice a street lamp waving quite violently, as you guess the pillock had shot round the corner and instead of turning went pretty much strait on into the lamppost, I out of worry gave 101 a call and said a guy had just come off the road and hit a lamp post, he wasn't badly hurt but shaken and the post he'd hit wasn't stable, plod turned up just after he'd pulled the car out f the post and run it back up the road to the hire depo, I (being a good citizen) wondered over to plod and mentioned where they might find said car and driver, :) I never heard what happened but I don't think he works there any longer and be surprised if he kept his license
