You can try it ,,but mark so you can put it back again after test /
I will give it a go tomorrow it's a bit difficult to get to its at the back of the engine mounted on the inlet manifold and I've got big hands I just thought someone on the site might have had a reason to adjust it and have some info as with air filter off tick over would be different. Michael

Smart + others :)
Some idle controls have two pins dependant on year. One of the 3 pin plugs goes to the fuel metering flap, one goes to the throttle Venturi switch and if there’s one more ( year dep) it’ll be for idle valve.

Did you give it a good clean out inside ? also check for broken or leaking hoses that go to it .Idid say information on the 2l is hard to find .Iwoul;d look at the 230e wiring manual it could help you .Mercedes in some cases .. fit one wiring loom and not one for each model .

Just to update it passed MOT today so just a few minor things to do like sort gear change out adjust cable as it pulls away in first in E and S. So also have another look round vacuum pipes. I replaced all I could see so I might need to scout round the rear right hand side of engine runs well 15 miles to MOT station and back only harsh gear change in first to second and second to third up shift only
