I have a merc c220 cdi auto avantgauard. I'm a forum virgin.

I have a number of issues:

25 miles per gallon, is this real?

I have a problem with the power. When I'm driving the car dramatically slows when going over small hill and gradients. The car's speed pick up is not what it was like. Very sluggish. Mechanic cant find a problem.

AC is Knackered again.

Pls advise where poss. The car has 99k FDSH.:-:)-(

My 2002 E220cdi with 200k on it could return 36-40 mpg and it was a taxi so driven hard! Something def wrong with yours. Suggest Dealership as mine has never let me down yet though very expensive!

A/c knackerd is most likley out of gas, if this has happend before then it must be leaking, so it needs dyeing and leak checking. most likley causes would be a leaking condensor (a/c radiator).

Have you been to a Merc dealer and had a full diagnostic check-up? You don't show your location. If you do next time someone may recommend a good indie or a good dealer in your area.

A said above - find another mechanic. He clearly doesn't know enough about them. I suspect your mpg is linked to your economy and it sounds like the turbo isn't playing. Lots of mechanics these days seem to think that if the computer says all is well, then it is. Find an old timer - long established MB indie.

Oil contamination on the MAF from the turbo intake, air temp sensor plug possibly full of oil also, look at the rubber pipework around the turbo and MAF if the area has crusty oil on the pipes etc that will be the problem.
