Merc parts online ?

I'm needing power steering fluid and have been advised it has to be Merc branded product. Is there anywhere I can buy this online ? ( UK prefered )

when I asked on here before I was told it had to be genuine Mercedes fluid? Now I don't know whats the case here

Gearbox does - but I suspect anything would do for the steering. There should be a list of 'standards' in the back of the manual, then just pop down to your local car spares shop and get a bottle of something appropriate. I've always just used ATF, though I've never had to top up any of my mercs.

Some time ago I recall we had a thread concerning different ATF type D or G etc. which my Lotus appeared to need. I'm not sure of the conclusions which we reached then. Anyone remember?

Hold on a minute,ATF and hydraulic fluid are different things.For example my old BMW 740i used CHF7 or CHF11s.Both stocked by ECP. The later S stands for synthetic and the oil is green.If you put red ATF into that particular system it will leak as the viscosity is to thin and the steering box will wear.
Anyone know for sure what the MB stuff is ? Haynes say use MB lenkgetriebeol only and ECP have no listing.
