Mercedes A Class - High Mileage issues?

I am relatively new to Mercedes Benz, never having owned one before.

I am looking at a 1999 "S" A170 CDI Avantgarde, which has 84,000 miles on the clock.

I understand that Mercedes have a good reputation for reliability, and usually shrug off higher mileages. Would this also apply to what I have been told is a "budget" Mercedes?.

Very high mileage for the year, was it a reps car i presume?

Check for dealer servicing from new. If thats the case there shouldnt be too many problems.

I haven't viewed the car yet, and was looking for help to decide whether to bother or not. I understand that the car has a full MB Service History.Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

No Problem.

There have been several posts on here about the A Class, might be worth having a look back through them to see if any problems do re-occur.
