Hi,
Firstly, let me introduce myself as this is my first post. I have to admit I do not own a Mercedes - I do however own a facinating item of Mercedes history that I am trying to find out more about.
Below are two pictures of an item that my grandfather bought at a charity auction in the late 1950's. As far as I know it is the 1955 Mercedes Benz racing team.
The picture is dated 16th November 1955 and it includes Fangio, Moss, Kling and Taruffi who finished in the top three places in the British F1 Grand Prix that year. They have all signed the picture too.
The question is, who are the rest of the people and which person is which?
Any leads or directions would be much appreciated as I am convinced this is quite an interesting item - we are just not sure what to do with it and who it really is.
First thing is to identify them and get some background. I know this was a very important season for the team as it was the year of the Le Mans disaster and the year they pulled out of motor racing.
Charles.
