Hello fellow owners. I've recently bought my mercedes sprinter 2015 213 cdi it's only got about 54,000 miles one it. I buy most of my cars and vans off copart so I get limited history, luckily I did manage to get hold of some service history and it was recently service, I know the van had been used for short journeys as it was a city van for a tradey. Anyways I did use it for a little while before Servicing it and noticed I got a message up for oil level being too high what I checked and saw it was slightly to high. I processed to do a service on it so I know it was right. Anyways in the last 2000 miles I've had the light come on serval times where I ended dropping oil out of the pan as I thought it might of been human error making me doub myself, but I processed to do around a 3 hour trip the other day and got the light up again. And checked, and it went up again. So I don't think it's the sensor as it's looks like the oil level creeps up. I've ended up sending the injectors away, and they've come back no issue all hunky dory. I'm thinking it could be the high pressure fuel pump. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before. Also when I do check the oil when it's been on a run it's half way up the dip stick (looks like it's got about 5 litres too much in) but then the next morning its gone down to a normal level, anyone know the proper procedure to check the oil on these, even when I leave it 15 minutes it still doesn't read correctly. Also to note, oil does not smell of diesel Thanks

Oil expands when hot. Suggest you drop oil until the level is at least 1/4 inch below full mark and see how you go.

Have a look at soot levels in the DPF.
Does the oil smell of diesel.
Failed regen's will increase the oil level.

At 84yr old, I guess I still have a foot in both camps!! I still relate to the old scale in my head.
