Mercedes C230 Sport Auto - 1997. Need some advice??

Hi there,

I am looking for some advice on purchasing of a 1997 C230 Sport Automatic (NON-KOMPRESSOR model) on a 'P' plate. the car has 65K miles with a full mercedes service history and has 2 previous owners, the first of which was the dealer.

The car is silver with AMG alloys, full leather interior, rear-spoiler, cruise control, electric windows and sunroof, etc but no air con. It is in very good condition and offered at £7K.
I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me if this sounds like a reasonable price and also if there is anything I should look out for in particular with this model. Also, what sort of mileage would I get from a full tank with this engine??

As I mentioned, the car does not have air con, how feasible would it be to have this put in??

Any opinions, advise, comments welcomed.

If you really want a/c then pass on this car and I'm sure you'll find a similar model with a/c already fitted. Although it's not impossible to retrofit a/c it will require that the entire dash be taken apart and hence is prohibitively expensive.
