Mercedes CLK 200 sports auto
Hello I hope the pool of expertise on this forum can help me please?

We have the opportunity to purchase a Mercedes CLK 200 sports auto, Registration R at what appears to be a very reasonable price.
The mileage seems low at 69841 (perhaps too low?)
Faults are the SRS light is on and a crack on bumper where fog light is in DSF.
Any opions on this car and it's faults and low mileage would appreciated?
If we did go and look at it is there anything in particular we should look at/for?
I apologise for a really stupid question but at this mileage would it be needing a cambelt change?

I hope you can help and I look forward to reading your replies.
Thanks
J

Mercedes use chains not belts, so should last >100k miles

SRS could be the seat occupancy sensor, no big deal.

Rust is always an issue, check rear arches.

Is this a cabriolet?

There are quite a few cars around at that mileage, I have a V70R at home with 82k on a R plate, the SRS could be the connectors under the seat passenger side or even a seat belt buckle, the thing is it will need STAR to see what the fault is and turn off then SRS.

You can check out the mileage on the VOSA web page and check the MOTs to see if they all tally up

Thanks for your quick reply - no it appears to be a solid roof from its picture

If it's a R reg' it will be a 230, that's a 2.3 litre M111 four cylinder egine either nasp or supercharged. A nice engine imo but a tadge thirsty given current petrol prices. Having said that will not drop into the teens when run around in urban traffic.
