Mercedes ML 270 CDI

I have a 2003 Mercedes ML 270 CDI automatic that has been sitting for sometime. When I tried to drive it it wouldn't move, felt like the brakes were stuck on, albeit I hadn't left the handbrake engaged. I lifted up the front and removed the disc pads, put the selector into neutral and tried to move rotate the discs by using a bar locked between a couple of wheel studs, but they were solid. Am I doing something wrong? Many thanks

erm, it should not be possible to move selector into N with out engine running.
However, you should be able to move the wheels, could well be that the gearbox pawl has stuck, locking the gearbox, that's my only suggestion, other than that ???????

Hi , yeah definitely something not right there, you should be able to rotate the front discs easily with your hand.

After a good look. No see anything drop the front drive line that shud isolate where prob is

Did you have both front wheels off the ground ?

Yes, I had all 4 wheels off the ground. Would it be an mechanical or electrical problem?
