Mercedes piston

Hi any way know anything about about the piston going or gone on a c180 kompressor.im booked my car in next week.but one of my mates friend thinks its the piston.makes a tappit noise on start up than goes away min later.when its warm it sounds normal.any one help???

Timing chain rattling at start up is a lot more common. I don’t remember seeing a piston issue on the forum

That was what I was thinking I got it booked now see what garage says.
And how much.or just part exchange it if it cost alot

Stay away from MB and find a good Indy near you and get some quotes

It's a 2007 with 101k its had a lots of oil changes in book and recipes I bought it in march.had a oil done in march but I did it in april again.i check the oil last monday not lost any oil. and was driving and sounding fine unit Wednesday when tappit noise started

Where are you getting the oil changed ?
Are they using the correct oil ?
Is it a MB garage ?

I did it from.
Had full mercedes history till 80k then a few Mercedes specialist in London.

How much warranty did you get with the car?

Piston noise - doubt that.

Tappet noise perhaps and sticky lifters. I would suggest some engine flush in an oil change but seeing that your engine baths well I doubt it.
