Mercedes servicing on the cheap!

I have a P-reg C200 that is due it's 135,000 mile service. Are there any decent specialists in the Luton/Milton Keynes area or will getting the service done at the Land Rover dealer where I work be alright on a car of this age?

use merc trained specialist

dont know of one in your area but strongly recommend you use a merc trained independent specialist. They are cheaper than dealers and tend to have a real love of the brand and especially older models with years of experience. Failing that go to a family owned independent motor engineer where they need to worry about their reputation. Would never trust a dealer (merc or otherwise) after many years bad experience.

There is a good specialist in Milton keynes (Water Eaton), Performance Car Services. I have started due to geographical reasons, using a St Albans based company, Prestige Performance Limited.

Hi, I used them a couple of months ago for a major servicing and to investigate a few issues I had with the car.

I was given some great advice on what needed to be replaced straight away (which I expected) , a list of stuff that will be fine for now, but will almost certainly need replacing at its next service. There was also a couple of little things that needed to be replaced which I wasnt expecting, one of which was a steering damper, but the defect was demonstrated to me and trusted their advice.

The final bill was above what I was expecting, however, it was caused by the additional work. The original work was in line with what I was expecting. Due to an extended wait on a few parts (not Ernigrips fault!) the car was in for 3 days. I was only billed for a courtesay car for the one day the car was scheduled to be in the garage. Labour charges are approx half that of main dealer MBS.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the service and I will keep going back to them for the foreseeable!
