Hello Folks

Just looking for some advice, I have purchased an old ML270 CDI (2001). Mainly for taking stuff to the tip/workhorse. Its down on power, fine on the flat but loses power and struggles on hills. Its not going into limp home mode as it still shifts through the gears. Took it to a mate who had a reader and these codes were spat out P1403 & P1470. EGR and Charge Pressure Negative control. So new EGR valve, blocked cats , MAF sensor ?? any ideas ? Its super handy so want to persist with it but it was only £500 so don't want to spend a fortune on it.

Considering usage, why not delete the egr. Pennies spent instead of many dollars. There is also a MAF delete around for pennies. Do some research.

Hi James check the simple (free ;) ) stuff first.. does the turbo actuator arm move when you rev the engine ?, is the egr clogged up, is there a boost leak. I would try and avoid aimlessly throwing parts at it. common rail diesels are complex and diagnosis can be difficult, good luck.

I hed the same issue.
It was the succion hose that actuates the egr that was damage in the curves near the end.
Good luck

LFE has a point, mine started doing this sort of thing and it was the little brown pipe attached to the spear that accumulates the air for the turbo arm activator, 5 second fix.
Do you get a fair bit of black smoke ?
