ML 270 cdi High revs between gear changes

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a situation of high revs in between upper gear changes. Rather than it being fluid through the changes it revs high between changes for a second. It's alomost like what you'd get with a slipping clutch on a manual.

Any input would be greatly received.

First thing is to check the atf level.
