Last year i paid £350, full comp with Norwich Union, this included full european cover.

Now insured here with a Spanish company and it works out about the same price except that car policies here must also include breakdown recovery service so with that taken into account the overall cost is considerably cheaper.

If you are going to be using it off road it may be worth getting a quote from NFU Mutual as they cover you for full off road use (apart from competitions).
Lots of the Discovery 3 guys use them, price comaprisons vary quite a bit, some getting excellent value for money some quotes well over the top but still worth a call.

Previously, all my vehicles were not in my name and insurance in my name (except seicento) because of issues with European legislation.

This year with taking on the A-Class I started looking at options. I eventually ended up with eCar Insurance Multi-Car policy and got the A-Class and Seicento on one policy, 4 drivers, in my name for 338pounds. If I added my M-Class onto the same policy it went upto just short of 600. The advantage of eCarInsurance is it gives you 365 days in Europe free and you can nominate where the cars spend most of there time and you can live at a different address.

Shop around and if you have more than 1 car, consider eCar Insurance.

If I took my car on a off roading course again my wife will kill me after the damage I did last time, I think I will stick to dirt tracks and muddy fields at weekends whilst out shooting.

Regarding the multi vehicle policy, I must look into that myself as I have to keep 3 vehicles on the road, one is a van for work though.

Hello

I was amazed at the price to insure my ML350 (£360 for me 33 and wife 26) full no claims / protected. Half what I paid for my previous car.

Its with Admiral, as for breakdown I have that 'free' with bank so I'm happy with the price..

cheers
