ML 270CDi fuel supply problems

Hi guys,

I have a problem that my 270 CDI is not able to draw fuel from the tank. Can anyone shed any light.

Useful info would be.

What is the unit before the fuel filer, is it a heater? or does it do something else?

At the tank end where is the feed, from the top of the tank? and if so is there an access panel?

What is the tank breather arrangement?

Please try and provide more info as this will enable us to give you some pointers as to what may be the problem.

1) Was there anything you did to the vehicle before you had the problem?

It could be air in the system.

In order to get the air out you must close all injectors nossel pipes.

I got a rubber pipe and took one of the pipes off the fuel filter and put the spare pipe on the filter canistor and i sucked the air out until the diesel came.

Fired up and the car started.

If you've recently changed fuel pump (not sure where located on your vehicle), did you pump it full before starting the vehicle? - I think if not done, it can draw air locks into the system.

Also, any fault codes? Could be immobilizer?
