Hi our ML W164 judders when we accelerate hard from a standstill. Driving normally nothing happens.

No engine management lights and it doesn't feel like an engine issue. It feels more physical than that, almost like a suspension issue or mounting?

As I say drive sedately and you'd never know anything was wrong. But jam your foot down hard to pull out from a junction and it judders so hard you have to take your foot off the accelerator to pull away more slowly.

Any ideas anyone please?

Thanks

Is it possible it's the front tyres crabbing on full lock ?

Engine mounts?
Possibly - it sounds / feels as though the issue is definitely towards the front rather than mid or behind. How would it engine mounts potentially be the cause? Apologies I don't know a huge amount about the mechanics of a car!

The whole engine rocks when revved when the mounts are shot. It's basically a rubber house brick either side of the engine. If you rev the engine whilst standing does it lift up n down.

Smart + others :)
It sounds like too much back pressure or a sensor reading wrong making it think it has too much back pressure.
