ML startup problem

the wife has a 2005 ml 370 and its be stood for 6 months after finding the battery flat have charged the battery for 24 hours and when trying to start nothing happens but recieve error message start fault also tried to jump start but same message any help woule be appreciated thanks alan

Hi Alan, new battery needed here by the sound of it, only get start error on the display when the battery is dead! Only other thing which will throw that up is when the key has gone down, but then they start and cut out again!

just thought of a earth strap that breaks, that Might be the problem, put a jump lead from the neg on the battery to a good earth point on the engine, if that cures it i will tell you where to find the strap!
