Hello, I recently removed the egr valve from my ml270 to clean the carbon from it . Very simple job just 3 e10 bolts ,impossible to get wrong. I put everything together after cleaning it and now the car is as slow as my toyota land cruiser.I check with the obd scanner and previously i had 17 psi of boost now it is mainly vacuum and boost is at most 0.5-1 psi on full load and wot. All 3 screws are tightened.I should mention that the vacuum line is disconnected because i have deleted the egr with resistors. Any ideas about what could be wrong would be appreciated. Thanks to everyone that takes the time to respond!

The turbo actuator wont work without vacuum, no actuator = no turbo.

I see you disconnected the vacuum line at both ends.
So what have you done at the other end it was connected to..?

Rev the engine and have a look at the end of the turbo actuator arm, it should rise slightly even on a small blip of the throttle. Turbo not working won't necessarily throw a code on OM612.

the vacuum pump is still mounted in its slot only disconnected and not doing anything useful at the moment

no because when i took it out to clean i found out it was rotten so the valve diaphragm isnt connected to anything now. Could the exhaust gases push open the valve slightly because there is no more backpressure on the diaphragm?

No, but you must esure you don't have vacuum leak on egr control line. Block the main incoming line (before controller).
