Hi I have a ML270 year 2000 . When I start it after leaving it overnight it starts O.K. After driving it a few miles and stopping and leaving it for anything like a few minutes to a couple of hours when I try to restart it the engine runs for two seconds then instantly cuts out. It will not start until the engine has been turned over for a long time two or three times and finally with the starter running for about 20 seconds it fires and runs. It runs fine as long as I do not stop the engine and try to restart it again.
Could the problem be with the immobiliser or with the alarm system.
It was in at Mercedes who checked it with the computer and no faults were in the memory. The AA also checked it with their computer and they also did not find anything. Any help with this will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ron

Both your dealer and the AA should have run the car and then tried to restart it under the conditions you have explained and their systems would have picked up the fault. the alarm/immobiliser could almost certainly be at fault..my daughters clio had this problem recently..it would start from cold but not from hot and it was the immobiliser ..and the dealer and all their fancy machines couldnt find it.. I would try and find a good indie in ur area

Injectors. These will not show up as a fault code, the only way to test them is to do a spill port test.
