I've just bought a 3 year old A class that comes with the 4 year warranty/30 Mobilo life package. Since I bought this car privately from it's first owner, is the above all transferable to me, and do I have to tell them I'm the new owner?

The Mobilo manual doesn't make it clear what's covered - I'm assuming wear and tear items like the exhaust and clutch are excluded.

As an example - What if one of the electronic units went at 5 years and it had the Merc servicing which is a condition of Mobilo. I see Mobilo would come to rescue me, but would they then pay for the electronic module and all it's fitting time, or do they pay for the parts and I pay for the labour.

Tyring to decide whether it's worth paying for the servicing if the Mobilo is quite restricive with what it actually covers.

i don;t think Mobilo is a used car warranty it is more like AA road rescue or green falg ie It GETS you to a garage and for minor repairs not for major problems.

Hi to both of you

There are multiple and lengthy threads throughout this forum on this very subject. I suggest you do a word search on something like 'Mobilo'.

Yes, Mobilo Life is more than a premier recovery service and there are very strict rules imposed by MB for retaining it. It can be 'lost' if you don't have your car serviced at the appropriate intervals and by MB dealers. I was informed I 'lost' my Mobilo because my car was serviced by a non-MB dealer BEFORE I purchased the car. It wasn't even my fault but MB said I 'broke' the rules.

However, you will probably get just as good service from any of the top recovery organisations 'without strings attached'.

REGARDS Phil

Mobilo will only pay for warranty if there is clear evidence to say that the part was maunfactured faultily. So yes they take your car in for repair, but most times you pay full labour and parts costs.

Also one delaer wont honour work done by another, just had that problem.
As many Merc Dealers are franchises and separate businesses.

Gets complicated and guess what you the customer get stuck in the middle.
