My C240... - is it twinspark?

hi,
my C240 just went for a service, and i just noticed that i've been charged for 12 spark plugs!!  either i've been overcharged or its a twinspark?  thought only alfas were tspark?pauly

well they cost a fiver each... wouldn't be that bad apart from the 7 hours at 70 quid an hour... daylight robbery; we won't be going there again!

Yup the C240 and C280 post '97 are twinspark cars.

7 Hours !!!!

They are renowned for being a bugger to change but the garage shouldn't have taken more than approx 2 hours to change the plugs.

That was total labour for the whole service tho...

Still too much nevertheless.

Why would it take 2 hours to do the plugs? I know (for example) on an FTO that you have to take the manifold off to change the one side but the engines the other way about on the Merc!

Hi Pauly

I would suggest you have a go a getting the plug leads off let alone changing the plugs. You won't jump at the chance in the future.

They are a bugger to get at.
